Silver Bracelets
Most people today believe that all watches are quartz/electronic and need batteries. There are new breeds of quartz watches which use a rechargeable battery cell and are charged daily either through mechanical means or through a solar cell built into the dial. These are usually marketed as kinetic silver bracelets (Seiko, Pulsar) or eco-drive (Citizen) or solar (Casio). Before battery powered watches were invented all watches were mechanical instruments with tiny motors inside powered by an array of springs, cogs, and gears. Some required manual winding once daily while others would have a device which wound the movement/motor with the motion of the wearer’s wrist. These are still available but generally cost more due to lower units produced and more complicated construction.
